- The final value fee is calculated on the total amount of the sale, which includes the item price, shipping, handling charges, and applicable taxes.
- Per order fees are $0.30 for total sales of $10.00 or less, and $0.40 for sales over $10.00.
- Sellers with a store subscription may have different fee structures.
- Top Rated Sellers receive a 10% discount on final value fees.
- Sellers with a Below Standard performance level are subject to an additional 5% fee on final value fees.
How much does eBay take from a $100 sale?
eBay will charge approximately 13.6\% of the total value (item price, shipping, and tax) for most goods sold in Canada.

If you are in category other than ‘Books, Movies & Music’, you shall incur even more fees, for instance, 15.3\% on sale. Lesser fees apply for NFTs, and guitars.
Does eBay take 10% of every sale?

What is the final value fee eBay charges?
eBay Canada charges a final value fee, which includes:
A total percentage of the sale, including shipping and tax.
Charge an Order Fee of 0.30or0.30or0.40.
For example:

- Additional 2.35% on amounts exceeding $7,500
- A total of $10 or less is a 30-cent fee, with 40 cents afterwards.
Something to remember is that fees can differ for each category and seller types (business, or private).
What happens when a listing is cancelled? Is there a fee?
For fixed price listings, – No fee for ending listing early.
And also if bids qualifying the reserve have been placed then auction styled listings may incur a final value fee.
If there is no sale, there isn’t a final fee. “No Final Value Fee” but insertion fees aren’t refunded.
How do I avoid inserting fees on eBay?
If aiming for insertion fees, do the following:
Set up and use eBay’s free monthly listing allowance. Like 50-250 listings a month, but depend on your account.
Join an eBay Store as a subscriber, giving access to lower fees and more free listings.
List in specific categories that are eligible for free listings.
Use the relisting feature and “Good ‘Til cancelled” strategically to lower relisting.
Once you surpass the complimentary limits, Insertion fees start at \$0.35 CAD per listing.
